Juliet joined the Climate Hazards Center in 2018 as a technical writer & editor. Juliet engages with all CHC content, from social media to blog posts to academic manuscripts to website writing. She also manages CHC's social media presence and outreach endeavors.
She graduated summa cum laude from UCSB with a degree in English literature and a minor in Professional Writing & Editing. She was the recipient of the Dean's Undergraduate Education Award for academic excellence and community building, the William and Marjorie Frost Memorial Award for academic excellence and outstanding research, and the College of Creative Studies Best Critical Essay Award. She helped pioneer the creative writing specialization under Professor Cherríe Moraga and presented her research in the digital humanities at the Popular Culture Association Conference in 2018 under Professor Jeremy Douglass, and in association with a 1.1 million dollar grant from the Mellon Foundation.
While Juliet specializes in technical writing, she also authors creative and academic work. She is an MFA Candidate at Vermont College of Fine Arts (VCFA), where she studies creative writing and specializes in narrative non-fiction. She is the recent recipient of the Center for Arts+ Social Justice Thesis Fellowship at VCFA. Juliet is also the Publicity Co-Chair for UCSB's Professional Women's Association.
