Software Developer
Bio:
Juan Diaz is a software developer at the Climate Hazards Center (CHC) of the University of California, Santa Barbara. His work involves developing tools to support climatological monitoring and research. Currently, his focus is on QSMPG (Seasonal Monitoring and Probability Generator for QGIS), a QGIS plugin that generates statistics and probabilities in an interactive and visually friendly format, allowing researchers to analyze rainfall season behavior more efficiently.
Juan's expertise in software development extends to web programming languages as well, where he writes patches and scripts for JavaScript and Python code to suit his needs. He is currently pursuing a degree in Systems Engineering at the Universidad del Valle in Colombia. Since his teenage years, Juan has been fascinated by computers and spent time reading system files and modifying settings files to fine-tune program performance.
In his free time, Juan enjoys tinkering with both hardware and software, as well as learning Japanese through various multimedia content from Japan, including games and online content in the Japanese language.
