CHC Researchers Shrad Shukla and Frank Davenport attend the SERVIR Annual Global Exchange (SAGE) 2020

Climate Hazards Center Researchers Shrad Shukla and Frank Davenport attended the SERVIR Annual Global Exchange (SAGE) 2020 event, held in Siem Reap, Cambodia from February 3-7, 2020.

Shukla and Davenport serve as PIs on NASA and SERVIR’s Applied Science Team (AST). Shukla’s project, Connecting West Africa users to cutting edge resources: Integrating satellite observations and sub-seasonal climate forecasts to enhance agricultural and pastoral water-management decision-making using 21st-century agro-pastoral water deficit predictions, will serve the SERVIR West Africa Hub, while Davenport’s project, titled Using Earth Observations and Statistical Models to Enhance Drought, Food Security, and Agricultural Outlooks in Eastern and Southern Africa, will serve the SERVIR Eastern and Southern Africa Hub.

SAGE 2020 offered a valuable opportunity for regional project PIs and CoPs to familiarize themselves with projects and find potential areas of overlap, which benefits SERVIR’s Hubs and regional stakeholders.
