Bio:
Daniella Alaso is a Communications Specialist at the Climate Hazards Center (CHC), University of California Santa Barbara. Her professional activities include communications of CHC’s datasets and services, and scientific contributions to various research activities. She is also a science writer for the GEOGLAM Crop Monitor.
Daniella received a BSc. in Meteorology from the University of Nairobi, Kenya and a Masters in Geography from the University of Alabama, where she worked under Dr. Jason Senkbeil. Her master’s research focused on expanding the Spatial Synoptic Classification - a weather classification scheme - to East Africa. She also worked on evaluating the influence of large-scale atmospheric circulation patterns on surface weather. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, dancing, reading, and tennis.
