Bio:
Emily Williams is a postdoctoral scientist with the Sierra Nevada Research Institute and Climatology Lab at the University of California Merced. As both a climate attribution scientist and a social scientist, she works on issues related to climate change, climate justice, and responsibility. Her work involves the detection and attribution of climate change on drought and impacts on vegetation productivity on rangelands. She also has led social science research involving climate denial and obstruction, and community-engaged research on climate change and fossil fuels. She received her PhD in Geography in 2022 from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she worked with CHC as a graduate student researcher. She currently is continuing collaboration with CHC as an affiliated researcher.
