CHC Partners with SERVIR & RCMRD to Facilitate Climate-Informed Decision-Making in Eastern and Southern Africa

The Climate Hazards Center and SERVIR collaborate in "Transforming Data into Information for Improved Food Security Decisions in Eastern and Southern Africa." These trainings, which were headed by PI Shrad Shukla, focused on enabling local and national stakeholders to confidently and effectively access and utilize data sets and models to support food security and water resource-related decisions, culminating in the enhanced capacity of over twenty agrometeorological decision-makers in using EO data to address water resource and agricultural management decisions in Africa. In addition, several attendees mentioned bringing back lessons learned to train their colleagues, exemplifying the “train the trainer” approach and increasing the workshops' impact and reach. These workshops highlighted CHIRPS, EWX, and FLDAS, among other data sets and tools.
