CHIRPS Data Set Used in Paper Investigating Biodiversity in Areas Under Threat

A new publication, Biodiversity Areas under Threat: Overlap of Climate Change and Population Pressures on the World's Biodiversity Priorities, investigates the intersection of trends in precipitation and population growth, and how those may be impacting different biomes. This study used the CHIRPS precipitation data set to identify significant trends in wetting and drying throughout the globe during the primary rainy season. This paper reported that many biodiversity hotspots and sensitive biomes are facing pressure from changing precipitation and population pressures.
